\u2014\u00a0 <\/span>Admission Requirements<\/h4>\n

Applicants to the doctoral programme of the Department of Philology<\/strong> must hold a Master\u2019s degree<\/strong> awarded by a Greek Higher Education Institution or by a recognised equivalent institution abroad.<\/p>\n

As a general rule, the applicant\u2019s Master\u2019s degree<\/strong> must be in the same or a related field of specialisation<\/strong> as the area in which they wish to pursue doctoral studies. In exceptional cases, subject to a decision by the Department Assembly, applicants holding a Master\u2019s degree in a different field may also be admitted.<\/p>\n

\u2014\u00a0 <\/span>Selection of PhD Candidates (for all three specialisations)<\/h4>\n

The minimum formal qualifications<\/strong> required of applicants to the doctoral programmes are as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. a) A degree<\/strong> from a Greek Higher Education Institution (University or former TEI) or from a recognised equivalent institution abroad.<\/li>\n
  2. b) A Master\u2019s degree<\/strong> awarded by a Greek Higher Education Institution or by an institution abroad recognised as equivalent by DOATAP<\/strong>, or an integrated Master\u2019s degree<\/strong>, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 4485\/2017.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Department Assembly may establish additional selection criteria, such as examinations, research experience and publications, professional experience, an interview, or other relevant qualifications.<\/p>\n

    \u2014\u00a0 <\/span>International Applicants<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    In addition to the documents listed above, international applicants are required to provide an official certificate of proficiency in Greek<\/strong>. This requirement also applies to scholarship holders.<\/p>\n

    \u2014\u00a0 <\/span>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Applicants must submit an online application<\/strong><\/a> as well as a printed application form<\/strong><\/a>, together with the supporting documents<\/strong> specified in the form.<\/p>\n

    After completing the online application, applicants must send the application form and all supporting documents submitted with it to the Department Secretariat at philsec@upatras.gr<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
